​Maintenance of CRDi system vehicle starts from fuel filter replacement.

Advanced technology of CRDi based diesel vehicles allows higher power and improved fuel efficiency than conventional diesel system.

High-priced parts such as injectors and high-pressure pumps operating at high pressures of up to 1,630 bars are very sophisticated and delicate. If they are exposed to minute particles or slight moisture in the fuel, This leads to a great economic loss.

​Therefore, in order to enjoy advanced CRDi system safely and comfortably, continuous and periodic fuel filter management is absolutely required. 

 

WATER SENSOR 

 
If more than a certain amount of water accumulates on the bottom of the water filter, you can see the water separation warning light to exchange water filter. If you drive continuously not to respect the warning light, water will penetrate into fuel system and it affects CRDi engine adversely.

So the Common Rail engine has a water filter (water sensor) that separates water contained in the fuel and stores water separately from the fuel in the tank.
INJECTOR

 

Oil film on the CRDi injector or the high-pressure pump prevents from friction and noise between metals. Non moisture filtered fuel deteriorates oil film and worsens fuel system. It is the main cause of malfunction of the fuel supply system and may cause wear and tear of parts. 
TEMPERATURE SENSOR HEATER

 

A paraffinic (CnH2n + 2) ingredient in fuel tends to solidify at zero degree Centigrade. Fuel filter to have heating device helps a lot to melt this paraffinic ingredient in the winter time.

The heater of the fuel filter, regardless of ECU control, operates according to ON / OFF of the fuel temperature control bimetal switch built in fuel filter. At minus 3 degrees Centigrade, Bimetal is turned on with the contact of the attached switch.
It dissolves the paraffinic ingredient in the fuel.
The fuel filter also has the function of separating foreign matter such as dirts and particles contained in diesel as air filter or other filters do.
